Hi all,

On Saturday I finally talked Mrs ejb into getting up early and visiting the F Lounge in Syd when we took a day trip to Melbourne.

What a great lounge......and I wish to visit again but mrs ejb refuses to get out of bed that early.....even for great bacon and eggs.

What is the latest domestic flight from the Int terminal in Sydney?:)

There are a couple of Jetstar ones that are pretty lateish.

JQ29 to MEL - ~10:00am, Mondays.
JQ35 to MEL - ~3:15pm, Saturdays.

These sorts of flights are often seasonal, so if you keep an eye out there might be some changes and there be more flights available.

Thanks for the help.

With those flight times I should be able to get another look at the lounge.

One related question though....if flying JQ will I still have access to F Lounge?

Yep.
Up until recently (or perhaps still currently), Plat's had access to the F lounge no matter which airline they are flying.

However it recently changed/will change to:
Member and 1 guest can access the lounge when travelling on a Qantas, Jetstar or oneworld flight.# Guest must be travelling with member.
So go for it. :D

That's what I thought I had read..........thanks........now to try the lunch menu:D

Actually on this topic (sorry for the thread hijack!)...is there still a 3hr limit on checking for int'l QF flights?

I have a 1pm(ish) flight in a few weeks, and would love to get to the Flounge around 9am to be in with a good shot at a massage. :)

Cheers,
- Febs.

I used QF35 this weekend (Sat).

I did a taste comparison and decided I was right that the Verve is nicer than the Moet.

The swordfish was good as well!

FWIW, I travelled

Class for AUD280, earning 40 SC's and 1125 QFF points for the journey.

If you have NO checked luggage, the First Class check=in people will probably open you flight just long enough for you to check in.

Thanks Serfty.
3 weeks in the US with our dollar the way it is = a big fat (but relatively empty on the way over) suitcase I'm afraid. :D

Totally agree with old Veuve. But ever since they changed their grape sources and 'reinvented' I am not too enamoured with the new taste. :(

- Febs.I thought from reading the "Spa Menu" that you could book prior to arriving, I was hoping to book a few days ahead for mrs ejb to get pampered whilst I tried the various bevies on offer.

The SYD F Checkin should be open; attend and they should assist.

Unless you are actually travelling QF in First Class you can't generally pre-book for the spa.

Had some of the new Vintage Moet - 2000 rather 1998 and it was very nice :)

Agreed. I too like the 2000. V buttery.
Do they have Vintage champagnes in the Flounge now? They only had NVs when I visited the MEL one. I certainly wouldn't want to be recognised by someone I know whilst sipping on Moet NV...

This was at home on Saturday night - bought on the way back from the US on the last trip ;)

After my visit to the MEL Flounge last Monday - they have changed the menu - both food and drink. Unfortunately, I didn't think to 'borrow' a menu, but I did note that the Moet Rose is no longer on the menu. Minute Steak is still there, but I don't recall what else has changed, I would guess about half of the food items.

Next time, I will think to take a photo/scan or borrow the menu:oops:

I always forget that, i was in our Japan office attepting to scan something and after finally getting it working as i wanted i realised i could have just used my digital camera ! With the quality you get today its an easy emergency scanner and just print pic to pdf or whatever format you need.

Are there any coming back MEL - SYD? (edit - just found one on Mon, but below question still stands!)

Is there any way of checking the JQ flights faster, have been trolling through the website and its pretty slow!
