Hi guys and gals,

Am 1 flight away from WP (yippee!) anyway, am already planning some family international trips out of Sydney.

My question is can I guest my wife and child 2.5 years old or only 1 of them?

I.e does a young child count as an extra guest? I presume it wouldn't but I don't know?

Your help appreciated!

You can only take one of them. I suggest you take the child.

Only joking. Wives don't count

Ah awesome, any idea about OW lounges generally?

EDIT - just saw OW considers children over 2 as a guest.

Yeah QF is good and AA is a pain in the butt - in North America last Xmas travelling with Mrs Paddy and one of the Master Paddys... who has a disability. Well, would they let us in to the Flagship Lounge? No way! Yes, I know, technically correct but that's where I appreciate the QF treatment

As mentioned the Family Policy applies.

I have taken my 2 teenagers in on 2 occasions.

My two really like the Flounge. QF have a great policy when it comes to children.

Agreed, this is one area QF excel in!
We've never needed the policy when travelling internationally as the kids always flew same class as us, but we did use it on occasion domestically and the lounge angels we always so nice and welcoming - even when we didn't need it (I.e had enough membership to cover the whole family), they normally didn't even check, but would just say something like "a family - welcome". It always left such a nice feeling :)

You'll be fine.. Enjoy becoming WP..(Qantas doesn't count children under the age of 3 as guests)

My kids love the Flounge too... especially the burgers.

I have always been welcomed into the Flounge when travelling as a family (3 kids). We were also welcomed into the AA lounge but not the AA Flagship - I had to do this by myself but the Corona was worth it!

We have a few AA Flagship lounges on the itinerary over x-mas - was wondering how we'd go getting access as a foursome......doesn't look good:(

I think you and I will be in the same boat :(
First test case for me will be Dec13 at LAX, hopefully if it doesn't work out we'll get into the regular AC with the drink chits ;)

10 days later for us.....SWMBO has just dropped to SG so if all else fails it's the AA lounge......I might need to search FT and find out where those hidden chits are;)

I asked this exact question yesterday at LAX to the AA Flagship lounge staff thinking that they would let the misses and three year old in with an upcoming trip - answer, no way Jose, could take the three year old but not the misses. I was also at the F Lounge at TBIT, saw a couple with four kids there, guess this is one area where QF beats AA

I'll definitely report back how we go.
I have two in F on 3 class transcon (myself as OWE and youngest daughter), two daughters in AA F two class no status and Shrek (WP) and son in J on 3 class transcon.
Hoping its so complicated (as it was to research and book) that we get a guernsey.
Only really 1 child extra of the six pax when accounting for class/ status.

OK, I am at LAX on Nov 26 and again on Dec 10, I will print your situation, give it to one of the angels, if she says it is OK, I will get her name and give it to you. If they say no, perhaps I will mention that you are undecided at the moment between AA and DL as a carrier.

I like your style ;)
And thanks a million :D
