Flying SYD-LHR on BA metal in Y on BA flight number crediting to BA Executive club. Am executive silver but also QF WP.

Do I have access to the SYD F-lounge? If not is there any way to gain access while still having the points/credits credit to BA?

Thanks for your help.

Yes you do have access to the SYD F lounge as per OW rules.
You may or may not have some difficulty explaining this to the lounge staff

Excellent. Thanks for your quick help!
I assume there will be something on the OW website that would be useful to print out?

yes there should be something on the OW website for you to print and take with you. Let's hope you don't need it :)

Enjoy the F lounge!

Please report back on how you get on.

Domestically, I am one of the people who have had problems doing what you plan to do - fly under one FF program but use the benefits of another.

The OP is OW Sapphire so would not be accessing the F lounge under OW access rules, but as a QF WP.
This is correct. To access the First lounge not travelling Firsdt as a QF WP one needs to consider: "Lounge access eligibility is based on the Frequent Flyer Membership tier for your next onward flight.".

No such issues as a BAEC gold accessing the Business Lounge.

Basically Qantas can do what they like with their own members, but need to adhere to oneworld rules for Tiered members of other oneworld frequent flyer programs.

I suggest entering under QF WP, but later on changing the FF number to your BAEC Silver one.

I've done something similar to what the OP is trying to do - SYD F Lounge with my AA number in the booking and printed on the BP (QF metal though), flashed my WP card and said that I would be crediting the miles to AA. They needed the WP number for entry purposes. Points credited to AA without a problem - once in the lounge I double checked on the RJ website to ensure only the AA number was in.
You could do the same and once in the lounge ring BA reservations/ticketing to ensure that only your BA number is attached.

The way I read it, given the positioning of ^ and #, the restriction should only apply to QF and EK flights.
So, a QF platinum on a non QF OW flight should be OK.
There's no telling, of course, how lounge staff might interpret it on any given day.

Platinum Frequent Flyer
Next onward flight must be on a Qantas^, Emirates^, Jetstar Airlines+ or oneworld operated and marketed flight. #

They are but there have been examples before of QF treating their own status FF members differently to other OW members.

Absolutely but I don't think they should be allowed to get away with anything that isn't explicitly stated in the OW rules that they have agreed to. Eg. No access to Dom J lounge for OWS
The EK example is very different.

My interpretation (not that this is written down anywhere) is that you have QF WP, and you have OWE as well, and the two are not the same thing. OW status is for reciprocal benefits on other alliance airlines. When you're travelling on your "home" airline, OW status doesn't come into it because you already have the status with that airline. So OW rules don't apply.

I'm glad it's not written down
I think OW rules should apply at all times otherwise why have explicitly stated exemptions to them in the OW T&C's

Yep. This. OW status is used when not travelling on your "home" airline.
The "home" airline can treat their own members however they want.
One example is AA not allowing their PLT/EXP members into ACs except when on an international or transcon flight. AA PLT/EXPs can't argue using the OW rules because those rules don't apply.

In the instance of QF treating its own elites differently, one example is: QF WP can access the SYD F Lounge when on an EK flight (other OWE cannot) and their one guest has to be travelling on the same flight. In contrast, a OWE (ie non QF) can guest someone who is not travelling on the same flight, however that guest must be flying on OW metal and code. This also applies to QF/OW COS. QF F can guest someone on the same flight only, OW F (ie BA F, ex-SYD) can guest someone flying on another flight (must be OW metal and code).

Also in dom J lounges, QF WP can guest two people, OWE can guest one.

Even though it's not written down, it seems quite clear anyway....

I seem to recall reading a post on some thread talking about how it's possible to change your FF number online, using maybe the RJ or the LA website. Is this correct? What's the process?

You can also use some other OW websites but for me RJ has worked every time but once. Go to MMB with your QF PNR and there is an option to change your FF number (program and number) there.

I've had some issues with QF dom changing numbers (prior to me using RJ and asking lounge staff to do it), but the advice I got from the call centre is that if you ring (reservations), they can definitely see and confirm which program a flight will or won't credit to. ie more reliable than lounge attendants.
