Brand new a380 service starts Monday on EY455 SYD-AUH. It would seem that EY had planned to have 4 A380s in service by now but only currently have 2 meaning that EY11 and EY17 AUH-LHR are having their a380 service scaled back to 77W and 346 and EY455 on Thursdays and Sundays will still be 77W..

Flying J on EY455 (a380) this week and looking forward to trying out the new product

 Can you give a source for that info please? I'm on EY455 (F Apartment) on a Saturday in October and would like to keep abreast of developments like this!

Actually, the 3rd A380 A6-APB is being delivered today A380-MSN176 (EY #3) F-WWAY | a380.boards.net

SYD will not be daily for a few months, yet. The aircraft will actually fly AUH-SYD-xAUH-LHR-AUHx-SYD etc.

This is just from checking the aircraft type on the EY bookings page.. A couple of months ago, all EY455/EY454 flights from 1st June showed a380, they have now changed with some being a380, some 77W. Same for EY11,17 etc so it would seem there was a delay in delivery.

As mentioned above by Jock28, it seems their 3rd A380 is being delivered today and I believe there is also a 4th one ready to be delivered shortly so I would think by October you should be ok and they should be back on schedule but keep an eye on it.

Thanks EUROPA. Nothing I can do of course if they sub the plane, but still ...

In respect of the A380-spotters page. Wow! I thought train spotters were a bit obsessive.

Hi Rooflyer,

I am in the same boat, EY455 on Saturday 10th October, which Saturday are you flying out?

My flight (1/7/15) EY455 has been changed from 9.55pm departure to 9.25pm departure - seems a slight tweak in schedule.

actually, the Residence is available with Etihad Miles...around a million or so from memory:)

And a million or so points for the residence is like 8x the cost of the standard apartments - so unless one has millions of points, I'd take the 8 apartment flights.

...but how much are the bragging rights worth...!
When Sq first opened their suites on the A380 for award bookings, they too were asking over a million SQ KrisFlyer miles

And a million EY Guest miles is precisely a million more than I have, or ever had!

Kevin, I will be awaiting for your photos of The Residence ;) That's the closest I will ever get at this stage.
