You know you're in a good place when Qf F is your backup option...

Absolutely privilaged to have that

The QF flight is even one of those old FASA's but I have requalified this year so don't need the SC's to retain WP

I couldn't give up an old FASA for apartments (it was a hard 1st world decision to make :p) but now I have no problem to cancel QF F award even for "standard" EY 777 F.

I'm assuming people are finding it tough for Apartment awards but if one or two wants to slum it in the Business Studio I am assume it is much more easier?

I saw a few seats available in October. Could be more singles out there, I was only looking for 2 seats.
Yeah I'm looking for 2 seats for next year. Was hoping to try Apartments out to Europe and SQ suites on the flight back around mid year sometime :(

Well there's heaps of Apartment from AUH-LHR, but can't find any from SYD.

Exactly the same for me actually :)

My plan is to book Apartments for AUH-LHR and 77W F for SYD-AUH. Then keep monitoring for a chance to change to an A380 on the off-chance one opens up closer the the travel date. At least AA won't charge a change fee.

Lol I'm sure there's heaps of others on here trying to snag those SYD-AUH apartment seats like us.

I don't know if all the points are worth it to only fly the First on the AUH-LHR leg. SYD-LHR in first is roughly 214k points compared to 130k on SQ Suites (110k with 15% online booking discount). Don't get me wrong, the Apartment looks stunning and the experience would be out of this world, but with no available SYD-AUH A380 award seats available, I'm finding it hard to justify the points difference :(, especially if you're not loaded up with points.

With AA miles it's a no-brainer to go F+ on EY.

TR will follow. EY455 to AUH then EY17 to LHR
Leaving QF F lounge to EY F lounge then off we go

How do you plan to access the QF F Lounge when you're flying EY?

Looking forward to your TR and any other TRs from EY AP :)

You won't be able to access the QF F lounge but EY operates a decent lounge in SYD. Anyway why would you bother with lounge f&b when an Arabic feast awaits onboard (accompanied by proper French champagne) ;

I'd like to cancel my J return flight LHR to SYD for an F flight LHR to BNE - there's availability, but I don't have enough points to book it before getting the refunded points for the J booking.

How long does it take to get my points returned? Don't want to cancel my J reward, and then find the F reward is sold out by time points come through!

Tried calling them to see if they can cancel and rebook for you?
