Extension of travel credit

I have a $200 travel credit expiring 7 August 2021, and with Sydney's extended lockdown, really have nothing to book....any one have experience as to whether Amex will extend the expiry date? Thanks

Amex are quite responsive, would have thought it easier to ask them direct on this.

Finally got hold of them via chat as this was not previously working ....they can't manually extend it but suggested I book something in the future which is changeable or cancelleable so not to lose the credit.

I'd screenshot that as cancellation loses the credit in terms of the T&Cs

Not always.
I had my Travel Credit reinstated and extended for 12 months when I cancelled a hotel booking during the June lockdown in Melbourne.

Amex have seemed to not enforce that during Covid times.

Cancellable booking is the key. I have had my Travel Credits "reinstated" this way on several (unfortunate) occasions
