Hi All
I recently did the Alitalia status match MH Gold to Sky Team Gold. It will expire in 3/16 as that is when my MH begins a new cycle and the status was paralleled. I have changed carriers and will be starting to notch up some miles on ST BUT not until August next year. Any bright ideas on how to extend my STG?

Short of getting another status match, I think you'll probably have to do a status run. Or just wait until you've earned enough miles to retain the status.

A few airlines will invite you to extend your status for a (usually rather high) fee. E.g. I've heard that Lufthansa will allow you to extend top tier status for around 2,000 Euros. I'm not aware of any such thing with Alitalia, and even if it did exist, I'm not sure it would be economically viable for you.
