Had an odd thing happen lately.

Flew Mel-Kul with EK in 2013 as a family. Can't remember the points ever posting and had regular updates on the three Mstr andye's QF accounts showing zero points (more recent flights credited elsewhere).

Just over two years after the flight the points were credited. However they were then instantly deducted as two years since earning a point (the points stuck on my & Mrs andye's active accounts).

Called QF, explained that did not have chance to stop expiry and points reinstated as goodwill gesture. Advised to credit something to account in next 6 weeks. Was impressed with the QF response for my 'infrequently' flying children.

I did a family transfer conga and now all the points are in mrs andye's account

But they are all in a live account now. Am I incorrect on this?

You are correct (would only be an issue the other way round, if your wife transferred to the kids trying to keep their points alive.)

Points that are transferred to a family member will be subject to the points expiry date that currently applies to the receiving family member's Qantas Frequent Flyer account.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.
