Here's a very short trip report on SQ's new regional business class seats. SQ's first A330 - 9V-STA - officially started revenue service this morning (16/02/2009). I did a quick turnaround trip to CGK to try out the new seats. Feel free to ask me any questions if you have any.

9V-STA (MSN:978) at F54 (T2 SIN) taking me to CGK and back.

Very comfortable new seats! Looks like modified Spacebeds but very much better.

Note that there isn't a side compartment as shown in the initial mock up shots.

Seat belts - those who drive the new generation of Merc will find this all too familiar.

Seat Control Panel - 4 preset modes. You have to press and hold to get to that position. It isn't one touch.

Seat fully reclined - more comfortable than Spacebed despite having the same recline angle. No lumpy contours, just soft leather.

Not large feet friendly but still more room than the Spacebed

Nice report.

I would ask you to be considerate of others; those 29 images come in at ~4,706,000 bytes and using dialup takes nearly ½ an hour to load. :-|

I suggest you employ thumbnails or 30K images with embedded links to either your photo bucket site or the images themselves.

They're clickon links for me?

Great pics - thanks for posting.

The seatback without the IFE in Y looks weird!

I wonder whether Krisflyer Business Saver award can be used on these planes? Or would it be excluded just like A380/77W series ......

A330-300 is available using Business Saver - SQ958/SQ959

I'm sorry you had to wait for the images, nobody has brought this issue up with me. Will use the 30kb images next time. ;)

You can redeem saver tickets on the New Regional J. This includes those on the refurbished 773s.

Once upon a time I had to use dialup, remembering those 14.4k modem speed days. But who still uses dialup nowadays? ;) :D

... But who still uses dialup nowadays?
e.g. 1) Those who have moved house recently and the ADSL is not working for some reason, and 2) Those who have photobucket blocked at the workplace and use dialap as a work around.

*Note it was a 56K modem, connecting at "50K".

14.4K !! Luxury. My 300 baud acoustic coupler has real problems with these new fangled handsets on modern phones. They just don't fit properly, making for unreliable connections :(.

And those who have the pleasure of staying in 3* outer suburban or regional motels when traveling for work.....

...and some of those manage to make sure your modem doesn't work on their lines

Nice pictorial summary of the new SQ A330-300.

Notice that the No smoking sign has been relocated.

The replacement sign is very useful but probably should have a symbol instead of just text. I can read that easily but I'm not sure about other people especially without their glasses.

Notice anything wrong?

OK I'll bite. Wrong aircraft type on the entertainment information card? :p :D

But what would the symbol be? Is there a general symbol for electronic devices?
