Experiences with Qantas Hotels and points/benefits of Hotel Loyalty Programs

When using Qantas Hotels for accommodation bookings at hotels where you have a loyalty program account, what are your experiences with earning hotel chain loyalty points/stay credits and obtaining status benefits through the hotel loyalty program?

I am initially interested in experiences with chains like IHG, Marriott, Hilton, Accor and Hyatt, but other experiences welcomed.

Many hotel loyalty programs exclude earning and receiving loyalty/status benefits when reservations are made through Online Travel Agent or Consolidators, but sometimes loyalty program benefits can be still be earned/received. So seeking real experiences specifically when booking via Qantas Hotels.

Hyatt Centric Hong Kong let me add my Hyatt number, but I didn't earn anything. They said I'd only earn on incidental charges.
