Exit row seats no longer complimentry to Gold Frequent Flyers

I just saw a post on ABT where someone indicated that as Platinum they were able to select an exit at no charge. I've just tried and selected an exit on a domestic flight for 2 weeks time and it came up and said "Extra legroom seat at $0". Looks like it might have been changed for WPs in response to the feedback, not sure if for SGs though.

It seems to be available to me too as an SG. Doesn't say anything about $0 though, but also doesn't mention is having a cost (which I think it did before today).

Also, I seem to be able to choose a seat a few rows further forwards (on a 737) - row 9 instead of 11. Though that could be because the booking I'm looking at has been split since I last checked.

Also found the note about the window amusing given the map has a symbol for what you'd think was a window - why don't they fix that?

Fair point but some (many?) people wouldn't notice a small icon not appearing on row 9 so the informational message does have merit. The icons aren't representative of window positioning anyway.

Yep I just tried for an exit row on LAX-MEL flight and could get it fee for me (WP) for $0 but would have been $180 for my wife, so let it go
