Also irrelevant. They are selling bulk head seats as 'Extra legroom' when they are not.

Why don't I offer to sell you a Porsche but give you a VW instead after you have paid and when you haven't had the opportunity to inspect the car before purchase.

But that mechanic I have known for 20 years said he had no trouble fitting the Porsche engine into the VW :shock:

No, I don't trust their speak because they are telling me certain rows have extra legroom when they clearly don't. They are lying!

Bulkhead seats often have less legroom because there is no seat in front to place one's feet under.

This is the biggest joke of all since, IME, no bulkhead seat on a QF aircraft has extra legroom.

Absolutely agree. Over the years I have sometimes been offered QF bulk heads at checkin because I am tall and well-meaning staff think they will give me extra room. But I have always refused bulkheads because I know from experience that they are much worse than a regular seat, where one can at least extend one's legs most of the way under the seat in front (albeit while bruising one's knees) or into the aisle.

I pity anyone tall whos is conned by the QF hype and pays for a bulkhead.

With other airlines YMMV. Some bulkheads do have good leg room. But it's hard to determine that without taking one and risking an uncomfortable mistake. On the other hand most of them are still free.

I just selected 23A on a domestic A330 (exit row) as WP and it did not ask for any money.

The website should warn if $ are involved right??

Is it free at a certain point, say T-36??

Considering 9.9/10 times I rock up to the desk at the airport when flying Tiger or JQ and they change me to an exit-row seat free of any charge whatsoever, it seems a bit ridiculous that even Gold QFF members have to pay. Mind you, I mostly fly East coast. Maybe it's a different policy SYD/BNE/MEL/ADL-PER?

Perhaps not strictly on-topic, but noticed for the first time this morning that cushions of window seats at 737 over wing exits are about 50% thinner than other seat cushions. Presumably to further assist quicker exit if required.
