As part of the reshuffle, Qantas loyalty chief executive Andrew Glance will take responsibility for group customer strategy and insights, becoming Qantas’ chief executive of loyalty and customer.

Qantas international and freight chief executive Cam Wallace will take responsibility for Qantas’ in-flight and on-ground products and services, including lounges.

Qantas domestic chief executive Markus Svensson will take responsibility for Qantas’ customer care and recovery, including contact centres, working closely with the other operational areas in Markus’ team.

And “400 executives to lose their jobs before Christmas”. Airline says fewer but I’m sure the bonuses will reflect the savings of shedding so many.

It certainly sounds like a few executives have had their roles enhanced, given the names mentioned above are taking on additional responsibilities alongside existing roles.

It sounds like they are getting rid of some staff then splitting up their jobs and handing out those parts to the people remaining.

I wonder if the CEO titles really reflect what they do now.

CEO Internaitonal - has domestic product included in portfolio and all airports (on and offshore)
CEO domestic - pilots, enginering, cabin crew, call centres

Might be worth a dedicated thread, but associated with these leadership changes, the AFR (behind paywall) are reporting that Qantas domestic will be "merged" with QantasLink.

They report Qantas domestic boss Markus Svensson will lead the merged entity which will still maintain separate operating certificates.

So basically it's bye bye QantasLink as a brand?

Sounds correct, given 'The Australian' has similarly reported.
