I'm planning a trip in SQ J then connecting to 5J from SIN to CRK and thinking about taking my badminton racquet as cabin luggage to enjoy some R&R.

When I read TravelSecure it says

[h=2]Items permitted[/h]Examples of common items that may be permitted.

 • Racquets used in squash, tennis, badminton

In a search of the wider web I can see plenty of instances where badminton racquets have been allowed and plenty where they have been denied.

Anyone have direct experience, (preferably at BNE & SIN.)

I'm wanting to avoid putting them in as checked luggage as I am travelling light and with a 1.5 hour connection in Singapore not planning to clear immigration.

I'd be surprised if it wasn't allowed. I've seen a tennis racquet recently. Coming back from Weipa last October, one PAX carried on a 7' fishing rod and reel - still rigged with hook and sinker. It went to the overhead space.

I went into a tennis store at a Club once..... asked for the best shoes.... $450.... the best shorts/shirt... $380... the best bag..... $600

The best tennis balls..... $38 for 4.... Club membership ....$3000.......

Then I asked him to sell me a racket....... so he offered me a half share in the business......:D:D
