Planning on experiencing Eurostar for first time in a week or so - London to Paris in Business Premier. What is best seating for a couple please - side by side facing seat in front or facing each other across table? Do the side by side seats facing rear of sear in front have plenty leg room? Appreciate your advice good people.

I prefer the side-by-side myself, but if you want to play footsies the whole way go for the table :)

Actually footsies was not figuring in the thought processes - query was more along the lines of which is most spacious? Which affords better experience in terms of overall comfort? Would both having window seats afford a better overall experience? Thanks in advance.

I was only partially joking about the footsies :) The table seats have more overall legroom but you are sharing it with your partner. I've always found the side-by-side legroom to be fine (and I'm 6'3).

Comfort is basically the same to be honest. With table seats one of you is going backwards, and you both have windows. With the side-by-side seats you are both going the same way (which may be either backwards or forwards - choose wisely when booking if that's important to you) and only one of you has a window. Otherwise, not much in it.

Thanks to all those who replied - have indeed booked Club 2 - I will run that past Cruiserette tonight and check to see if I have gotten it right.

Just a note that we've had a nice lunch opposite Gare du Nord at the Brasserie Terminus Nord when waiting for a train to London.

Having tried both I have found the table option to be definitely preferable - having the table is convenient for resting a book or tablet on for reading and it's also good to have a stable surface for drinks etc. Leg room is adequate with either option.

Side by side, forward facing and no table. The meal they provide is very nice. A very pleasant way to get to Paris.

You get a drop down table in the other seats as well.

We prefer the single seats facing each other across the table - no worries about seat mates! A very easy way to travel.

Either option is good. We have sat in both.
I always like to pick seats in the middle of a big panorama window.

Another vote for side by side. Neither Mrs Cat nor myself are fond of travelling backwards and, to be honest, it's not a particularly scenic journey.

Yes, but drop down table was less stable and more restrictive on belly room as I recall.

Fair enough. I didn't find it so. My response was more about informing the OP there was a table. When I read your response it seemed to me like you chose the table option because there was no table elsewhere. :-)

Whatever the seat, I love the Eurostar. London to Paris in a couple of hours is the bees knees.

Yes, train seems to be the most convenient way to go. Being big (tall and solid rather than fat, I might add) I do hate feeling restricted - hence I tend to take notice of belly room when other pax might not give it a second thought. Slightly OT but we did really also enjoy the overnight Stena Line ferry + train to Amsterdam - nice modern ship with surprisingly good dining.
