Historically when should the Europe early bird sales be out? Looking for flights for the family in economy for April/may next year. Qatar apparently have a sale on now, but doesn't look much different then fares ive been watching over the last few months. Qantas have sent me a double points offer for European flights next year so im assuming any sale they have wont be until that ends?
Looking for Adl-AMS, BCN-ADL with possibly a stopover on the way home depends what airline offers the best deal.

The early bird flights I’ve seen for many airlines are no different to the sales offered over the last few months for Europe 2020.

I was going to wait for the traditional early bird sales before booking a Feb 2020 trip to Milan, but the prices last month were already as low as they were probably ever going to go, so I decided to book early. There’s a lot of crazy discounting going on in the industry. I don’t think Early Bird season is as significant as it once was.

I guess you missed this post published yesterday?

Got an email from sta yesterday saying return to EU from $777, but when I clicked on link it didn't work. May have been on a LCC like Scoot or ?

Looked on search engine for BNE/MXP mid June & back 3 weeks later & it was about $1236 on TG. Good connection on way over, 12 hours in BKK on way back, but considering it's school holidays, very cheap.

If this was to Athens or Berlin, then almost certainly Scoot (and excluding baggage, food, etc.).

Personally I'm quite happy to be an extra $300-400 for a full service airline for flights of this length. :)

flown Scoot twice to SIN. Have also flown Qantas. Next time, I'll definitely fly Scoot. Better than Qantas but much cheaper.

I’m not a fan of Qantas but I’m surprised that Scoot is better. What was it about Scoot that was so good (apart from price)? I’ve avoided it because I assumed it was like flying international Jetstar (which is a horror show).

for a start

1. it's run by SQ, by far the worlds best airline
2. new B787 aircraft on long haul at least (think they have taken over Tiger Sin & their A320s)
3. flight attendants are in the SQ mould, ie. excellent
4. you can buy last minute upgrades to Scoot biz.

At OOL this was only AUD$99 for one way OOL/SIN. Ok it's not business class, but next best thing.

They even announced once seated in economy, there were a few biz seats left. Any last minute takers? Talk about last minute revenue. (multiply that a few 1000 times & it adds up, plus once sitting up front, hard to go back to Y, so might get some more biz bookings in future)

(don't think their last minute fares are that special, but book early & save heaps)

You’re definitely selling it! I’ve seen some ridiculously low prices to destinations I want to visit. I’m going to seriously consider it next time. Thanks!

Finnair email arrived last night. The whY fares are not the cheapest around but some sub $6k J fares to Europe:

JAL are advertising on their website J to Europe “from” $5.5k but can’t find a list of destinations or travel/booking periods. MEL-NRT appears to offer the best connections (and you can book a SYD-MEL tag on QF for the same price). SYD-NRT on JL was coming up with 18 hr layover there and about 10 back - at least not an airport change...).

I’m on the hunt for a good OW J fare into MAD late June/early July and back end of July/early August - flexible on departure point. If I can get JL to work for $5.5 I’ll probably jump on that.

On the premise I won't retain platinum next year I am on the look out for a Sydney London return (solo as husband will fly Qantas ) business or first in may

I just booked SYD-FRA, WAW-SYD on Air China for $815. Late May departure

Looking at a few options now for the UK in Jun/Jul and will more than likely head to Indonesia and go from there.
DPS-LHR $3200 on QR
CGK-LHR $3000 on EY

got an email yesterday saying London $999 return from Brisbane & Melbourne, so read the detail thinking it would be only for 1 week in November but surprisingly for period

Jan 13 to 1 April

&

April 13 to May 31

& had a quick look & seems to be tons of availability, ie. seemed to be 9 seats everyday in each direction, so phoned & quized them & they said 30 seats most days

Thanks @CaptJCool :)
Managed to get Syd lhr for 11,005
Mind i need to.get.some gift vouchers to avoid that credit card surcharge

That’ll be me sometime in the future

The grand plan is to take 4 of us to LAX on the F special!

But post age 60, these are the go. In the meantime, cheap F ex Europe is my option....
