Hi Everyone,

Thanks to everyone on awesome advice on this forum, a wealth of knowledge here. I have plans to go to Europe next year in Mid 2012.

I have decided to fly as a minimum premium economy from Singapore - > London - > Singapore - > Perth, i'm currently a PS until 1st June 2012 (I'm not used to all the acronyms yet!) and will be for the flights to Europe.
Now with BA I can get the flights for alot cheaper than actually booking Qantas directly, however during the flight selection I can actually choose a Qantas operated flight which gives the better premium economy seats compared to the equiv BA flight.

Now I plan to use some points if I can to upgrade to business class, now are we able to use QFF points to upgrade BA flights which are Qantas operated? If possible I might pay a bit more and book Business all the way there and use the QFF points to upgrade to first. (wishful thinking)

I plan to buy a cheap ticket from Perth to Singapore so I can take advantage of the cheaper trips ex Any Country other than Aus.

Now another dilemma, should let the PS lapse so I can start again fresh in my new QFF year? So I can potentially have PS for two years instead of just renewing for the following year in 2012?

Cheers in advance!

QF FF points can only be used for upgrades if flying on a QF flight number and operated by Qantas. So you cannot use QFF points to upgrade a BA flight number operated by Qantas, or a QF flight number operated by BA.

In my opinion, Silver status is not worth spending additional time, effort or money to achieve. If you don't qualify Silver through normal flying, then there is probably not enough reason to chase that status. However, others may hold a different opinion. QF Gold (OneWorld Sapphire) is the starting point for extra effort in my opinion.
