The trouble is every flyer is different, and we don't all value things in the same ways, and certainly not equally. Not to mention chance means nobody ever has the same experience - one person might have a bad crew, another a good one etc - indeed they could even be the same crew just perceived differently.

I think these award things just help give you some ideas of who to look at, and try for yourself. Just like TripAdvisor, it's a starting point to research and pick from rather than an end point of your decision making process.

A teeny bit surprised by this accolade, to be honest.

Flew them recently BNE-SIN-AUH v.v. and, whilst very good, it wasn't a knock-your-socks off experience.

Thought the IFE was a tad lacklustre.

Still, EY definitely deserves to be near the pointy end...but right on top?

I had thought that China Southern was maybe a bit dodgy and had never thought of them as one of the big boys. I have to admit that I hadn't really considered travelling with them, but my presumption is probably ill informed. Even though you are not exactly recommending them, with a possible China trip this year, I will have a closer look at CZ flights.

Im sorry I meant CX Cathay not CZ. Although I will admit to having flown on CZ A380 and CZ 787 on some of their internal flights and I was pleasantly surprised. I am thinking of using them on a long haul to Europe once they have better 787 and 380 schedules in place. I was surprised to find the Business Class in both very different to each other but spacious and airy none the less. I cant comment on full food service as flight was quite short

Absolutely. There are people I know who seem to value baggage allowance over almost everything else.
