I was just doing a routine check of my flights booked through AMEX for a return trip to LHR. As is normal (or was) for EY, seat selection could not be done except by phone. I avoided doing this for whatever reason.
But when checking last night I noticed that seat selection is indeed available. I had already selected seats by phone with VA for VA-operated segments, these were not showing on EY website. Likewise EY-operated are not showing as selected on the VA site. This is not surprising as the tickets are on two different PNRs.
However the seats have stuck in each system. It would seem that one of the more annoying elements of booking with Etihad (probably VA codeshares operated by EY too) has been solved.
Ground me if this is old news!
