With so many planes airborne and thus tens of thousands of pilots, this sort of thing will always happen. Pure statistics.

Wasn't it just last year or so the female Air New Zealand pilot managed to land at Perth then died?

Well, if you make the medical stringent enough, you'll solve the problem. Won't have any pilots though.

They are bad enough already!
