Hi All

My mum is flying out from Edinburgh to Sydney (rtn) in Nov/Dec 2015 and looking to book with Etihad on a cheap ticket in Economy tomorrow. As I am a Gold VFF I was hoping to sign her up with VFF and transfer the points across. I cant family pool as already have my partner pooling points to my account. So, my question is - is this the best way of maximising any benefit from the long haul booking? I know Virgin and Etihad codeshare etc and I wont gain much as its not Virgin but will she gain a reasonable amount of Velocity points that I can then transfer across? The point is then to use any points to assist with a SYD>MEL trip. Perhaps best that she uses them for this purpose and not bother transferring to me...? I also might be completely wrong! Any help/advice much appreciated.

Cheers

If you have a VA flight number you will earn points the same as VA metal

Unlikely it is but I'll ask her to enquire. She regularly books with Trailfinders. If not I think she will be able to use those points on a VA/Codeshare to Melb (?). Thanks
