Etihad Delays/Cancellations

The AUH-orginating EY460 (A380 A6-APD) into MEL on Thursday 10 March is forecast to pull in to the terminal at 1946, 76 minutes late. There has been flooding in the Emirates while one QF plane was allegedly hit by lightning at DXB airport. See two separate threads for those.

On Friday 11 March 2016, EY460 will again be late into MEL. Tonight it should arrive at the gate at about 1930, 60 minutes late. Aircraft is B774ER A6-ETL.

For a third consecutive night, EY460 is late, this time on Monday 14 March. It should arrive in MEL ex AUH at 1945, 75 minutes late (B773ER A6-ETS.)

EY450, the 0735 hours arrival on Wednesday 16 March in SYD ex AUH is about 35 minutes late and should arrive at 0810. Aircraft is B773ER A6-ETK.

On Wednesday 13 April 2015, EY455, the 2045 hours SYD to AUH (A380 A5_APB) took off at 2146 and hence will not arrive until about 0635 hours on Thursday 14, 55 minutes or so late.

The 2045 hours Wednesday 4 May 2016 EY455 from SYD to AUH was delayed overnight and took off on Thursday 5 May (today) at 1353 hours as EY455A - 'A' for 'altered.' Aircraft is A380 A6-APA, so it should be about 16 - 16 and a half hours late arriving in the Middle East.

The Etihad website gives an inadequate amount of information with a simple note 'departure delayed until next day.' Is it suffering from 'VA poor programmers' disease?'

EY454 (A380 A6-APF) took off from AUH at 2309 on Tuesday 17 May despite a departure time of 2155 hours. Hence on Wednesday 18 it should arrive in SYD at about 1845 hours, 50 minutes late.

On Thursday 19 May, EY454 is again late into SYD with arrival about to occur at roughly 1833, 38 minutes late. A380 A6-APD is the aircraft.

The 1410 hours Wednesday 23 May EY451 (B773ER A6-ETM) did not take off until 1518, so arrival is not suggested until about 2355, 50 minutes behind time.

Due to the numerous delays from the westerlies hitting SYD this afternoon and consequent restricted runway operations to 07, EY451, the 1410 hours SYD to AUH has yet to push back as at 1540 hours. B773ER A6-ETM is the aircraft.

On Sunday 29 May, EY460 is expected to arrive in MEL at about 1825, 40 minutes late. This flight originates in AUH.

EY460 on Thursday 2 June 2015 was airborne from AUH at a late 2327 despite a departure time of 2215 hours. A380 A6-APF is about to land in MEL with 'at the gate' arrival likely at roughly 1845, an hour late.

On a very wet Sunday 5 June 2016 with more than 130 millimetres of rain recorded in the past 30 hours, EY451, the 1410 hours SYD to AUH (B773ER A5-ETN) is still a few minutes from taking off at 1550 as it is taxiing on the main north-south runway, one of a small minority to use it today as most are using the east-west runway due to crosswinds. FR24 has the fiction that this flight will arrive on time in the Middle East: quite often, once a plane has reached cruise, FR24 adjusts such predictions.

EY451 on Thursday 9 June is operated by B773ER A6-ETK. It is the 1410 longhaul, SYD - AUH that took off at 1510. It is expected to arrive about 85 minutes late at 0030 on Friday 10 June.

EY460 on Sunday 12 June 2016 (A380 A6-APF) should arrive at about 1834, 49 minutes late. It was airborne on Sunday 10 at 2310 compared to a pushback time of 2215, so at that stage it was about half an hour late.

Tuesday 28 June sees EY460, the Monday 27 2215 hours AUH - MEL that took off at 2300 arriving in MEL at about 1837, 52 minutes late. The aircraft is A380 A6-APF.

Further north, EY451 (1410 hours SYD - AUH) was airborne at 1504 and with B773ER A6-ETK as the plane should arrive at about 2355, 40 minutes late.

EY454, the 2155 hours Monday 4 July overnight from AUH to SYD took off at 2339 despite a departure time of 2155. On Tuesday 5 July aircraft A380 A6-APA should arrive at about 1926, 91 minutes late. As the returning flight, EY455, is scheduled to depart at 2045 it should be able to do so at around the 2110 mark.
