My problem is that I have purchased tickets on Etihad website for xx_euros (flying from Europe to AUS) but my credit card was charged yyydollars. And the sums do not add up. So I am trying to get refund for the difference. It is early days yet but I would like to get to their Customer Service Manager and discuss it.

Just one small point, are you sure it is an issue with Etihad charging, and not your credit card issuer?

A couple of questions come to mind:
1) Were ther correct number of Euros charged to the card?
2) How are you determining yyy
3) How far apart from what you expected is it to be?
 
Hi there,
I have used an european card issued by a european bank (account is in euros) and after purchasing tickets in euros the card was charged in australian dollars (just because I live here ???). The bank has converted this amount back to euros. The difference is 232 euros which is considerable.
If you buy something overseas in a currecy X then this must be charged to your card in that currency and let the bank convert it, not the merchant!

I am replying to myself. Just to make a comment that I have used the Etihad module to ask for the Customer Service and I have just received reply asking for details. Hope that it will end in the right deparytment.
The problem is that all services go theough indian call centres (ticketing, timetables,enquiries,etc.) and as much that I have nothing against India I feel that they are operating on different wawelengths than us. But in todays world all goods are from China and all services from India....

Just received a comprehensive explanation of what happened. The whole matter has been resolved to my full satisfaction. If there is anyone having similar problems do not hesitate to contact them.
 
PIN - Did you get a response from the Feedback form or from the email you sent to [email protected] FAO Susan Clemson? (Also i presume you put FAO Susan Clemson in the subject?)
