Struggling to use your Frequent Flyer Points?

Frequent Flyer Concierge takes the hard work out of finding award availability and redeeming your frequent flyer or credit card points for flights.

Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, the Frequent Flyer Concierge team at Frequent Flyer Concierge will help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Looking for 2 pax early Sep, no GuestFirst availability on the A380 on both ways.
That's going to be a hard one to catch.

Reeaaalllyyy want. Will need to invent a need to go to Europe or something.

Aren't you already booked on the 388 to AUH enroute to MLE ?

You could always pay the additional mileage and upgrade to F. Would only cost just over US$600 for two pax under the current promo.

True that the upgrade would be wasted on the two class Y and J A320 that's used for the AUH-MLE route but at least you get the long leg in F.

Sadly, the (to be) MrsBismarck will want to hold hands on that particular trip. Something not facilitated by the designs of the apartments.

Not to mention that I've already checked my dates and there isn't availability

I thought that you can hold hands in bed in a couple of adjoining F apartments?

Haha same here. Already have two trips to Europe this year, didn't plan to do another one but a true FF book the flights first and worry about the destination later ;) :)

I think the partition does partially retract to accommodate this. But really, the bed (on a plane at least) is for sleeping undermining the "shared experience" side of things.

I honestly think this will be a product I'd enjoy and she wouldn't. Sounds like an opportunity to revive The Arrangement (wherein she heads downstairs and I weep at the credit card bill inflicted on me at our destination).

I've heard anecdotally that its possible to get AA to waive the booking fee - so you only pay miles and tax. Anyone be kind enough to please share? Much appreciated and grateful for the assistance. PM is fine.

Pretty sure that's only for EXP's??

pmdg7444 book another award (e.g. QF SYD-LHR) online and then call up to change, as their is no change fee

I have read this thread a few times now and am looking at booking Syd/Mel to AUH in late December. In doing a dummy booking for mid December (later dates not open yet) I am seeing for two people, its 96,000 miles pp just for this sector in Guest Business, which seems about the same as people booking through to LHR. Am I right or doing something wrong here?

Use the Etihad site to confirm availability (as you've done) and then flip over to the AA award chart (https://www.aa.com/i18n/disclaimers/aadvantageAllPartnerChart.jsp) to get the pricing in AA miles (90k miles for two people, one way).

This thread discusses the use of AA miles to fly Etihad.
I'm not familiar with the Etihad Guest program but I suggest any questions about it should probably go in the EY section.

Using AA miles it costs 45k miles for Mel/syd-AUH in J and 60k miles in F. That's per person one way. Plus about US$100 in taxes/fees/surcharges which is also per person one way.

I thought I read we had to use the Etihad site to check availability of Award seats. From what you and bismarck have said, the miles I see when doing that, aren't the same as the AAmiles I would actually need to use. In which case, I now GET the excitement here! :p

I am looking at F then baby!

What is availability like around the Christmas break then? Crystal ball maybe?
