Error on Tiger Airways

Sorry, but here is another question:

I want to book a flight from Melbourne to the Sunshine Coast in early August. I want to do a Web Check In but when I select "No checked in baggage, I will use Web Check In" and than click continue I get this message.

"At least 1 adult should opted webcheckin!"

I should point out that I am 16 years of age.

And therefore technically not an adult (ie 18 years). Whether it is intentional or reasonable is another matter.

I have checked on their site and this is their list of people who cannot check in. And it says nothing about how a 16 old cannot Web Check in.

Why can't I Web Check-in?
1.You must have a domestic flight reservation for Tiger Airways Australia.
2.Web Check-in opens 7 days and closes 4 hours before your scheduled departure.
3.According to international laws, you must not have any dangerous goods or prohibited items in your luggage when travelling.
4.You need to be online, with access to a PDF-reader to view the boarding pass and a printer to print out the boarding pass.
5.Passengers between 12-14 years at the time of departure travelling unaccompanied will need to check-in at the airport as we require a signed indemnity form by a parent or guardian as well as the parent/guardian to remain at the airport until the departure of the flight.

Then it’s a bug, can you do a dummy booking with a different age listed (as 18 or over) and replicate the problem? If you succeed with the check-box then it might be an unlisted rule, if you don’t, it’s not just you, but who knows when it’ll be fixed!

It may not be a bug. Although Tiger's rule indicate that a 16 year old can travel independantly, a 16 year old is still not an adult and it may well have been deliberately coded not to allow 16 year olds to check in other than in person

In which case it is a rule that should be published so that people can be aware of the limitation.

I just wonder how many people try to web check in without a domestic flight reservation for Tiger airways

(ps yes I understand the whole tiger international thing)

It's not just you, I am unable to purchase tickets either on TT an opt for web check in, and I sure as hell am not paying 10 bucks to line up with the bogans (Not implying that everyone who flys with TT are bogans but I've seen some pretty bad cases down there) just to get a BP:shock:

Ok I had to try it and it works for me (a >18 person). Well I didn't go through and pay for the ticket. But it let me get that far.
