Hmm

Having just posted that I hadn't been further back than the first row of why I just logged on to check in for my flight.

I was happy in 23D - well I was at least when I thought it was a 767 - seems like an equipment swap to a 737 and I have retained my 23D seat... I have been able to salvage 9D but I have to say that I am not overly happy that I was automatically punted back in the aircraft.

Have to say that I am not seeing much P1 love really...

That is a bit poor, wasn't the idea of the P1 team to be there to take care of you when there is a change be it equipment or other?

Yeah - I thought so. I also left a voicemail for them on Monday on something else and havent heard back.

And now in Manage My Bookings and in seat selection it is still showing 23D but when I OLCI again it is 9D... strange

I think because OLCI works in DCS and MMB is in RES system DCS will be correct

Quite normal IME for MMB to not be up to date once you get close to departure.

Do those sitting in rows for and 5 of a 767 stay in row 4 or 5 of a 737, or do they get moved accordingly?;)

MMB "breaks", to use the technical term, once you check in, IME.

I noticed a CL bag tag heading down to row 27 of a 737 last week. When I took a walk during the flight he had 3 seats (def). Might be worth keeping 23D? ;)

Isn't this well known? Altea keeps your seat preference selection when equipment changes? Unfortunately if you normally request or chose 23A/B on a 767, then the system will allocate you 23A/B on the 737 or other changed aircraft type because it thinks it is your preference?

It happened to me once before when a 767 was subbed to a 737-400 and I went to 29B (last row!). I never realised until i boarded that it was changed as i checked in the night before. Wasn't too happy as the flight was full but the CSM moved me to 9E (swap with a paxing FA).

Nothing is worth 23D ;)

I was not aware of this issue - it hasn't happened to me before in that I have normally logged in more frequently to review seats.

No chance of an upgrade as I guess going from 30J to [-]18J[/-] 12J might have impacted the availability :(

18J or 12J? As a result i always select a J or K seat now, so if it changes i get a new seat assignment

This has been discussed a lot in other threads. The way aircraft substitutions are done is not good. You can lose your exit row seating too - and the staff have to re-screen the new recipients!

They cannot get even 738 to 734 (or vv) right. How hard can that be?

Apparently there is an automatic re-map and then ground staff should make manual adjustments.

Regardless, the system is not good!
