EpiQure prices

Do I get many brownie points for paying six figured tax bill this morning. I would have preferred receiving a thank you note from them but I don't think one is on its way.
I did get an EpiCure offer to join at $69 a couple of days ago but do I really need more clubs??

When do you actually get your cash back from starthere? Is there a minimum?

I usually only shop at epiqure if they got a good bonus points special on- being on parity on price with Dan's is then good enough in my opinion. The Veuve offer just now was a good example of this.

Saying that... If they don't offer another year of "free" membership once mine expires mid year, I sure as hell won't be paying for another year! Saying that- I bet no one will so they'll probably come up with some goodie to make you stay.

There are some QFF members out there that would be surfing the Epicure site on a Friday night, see something they like and buy. They are not checking prices against the Dan's benchmark and QF are making some nice $$$.

If they have the occasional decent sale then us more astute shoppers will also jump in so really everything is a win-win for QF.

There is the 10,000 all up bonus you get after your first four dozen purchased, plus the $69 earns points as well.

Even less with a discounted wish card & a visit to starthere :D

I'm taking this a little further OT (not sure if starthere deserves its own thread), but I love the snippets I learn from AFFers, thanks to the forum I buy Wish gift cards at 5% discount but thanks to Shintaro10x have just learnt I can double dip this discount using starthere. Is someone happy to 'refer' me to starthere so I start out at Gold and count as a referral for them?

edit: thanks Shintaro10x for the referral!

PM sent...

I'd also appreciate one too :D

done, check your PM

double dipping would be via 5% discounted wish card from entertainment book or your local auto club + the additional starthere discount of 5.25%

Effectively 10.25% off all dan murphy purchases

Less the opportunity cost of having that 5.25% held in trust for 90+ days, FWIW Dans recently cancelled mine claiming goft cards are not eligible, still in negotiations with start here!

Either I'm looking at the wrong links because I can't seem to find what is being referred to here about double dipping..

The double dipping would work like this..
you buy WISH gift cards with a 5% discount through your auto club or membergiftcards(dot)com(dot)au if you are an entertainment member (I get access to this through having my electricity with Red)
Then 5.25% cashback through starthere

however

FWIW Dans recently cancelled mine claiming goft cards are not eligible, still in negotiations with start here!

This may change my plans! Can you let us know the outcome of this once decided Markis10?

I have funds awaiting clearance, looks like I shall wait and see the outcome of these payments before I make some additional purchases...Did you get ant cash back from them, or was all payments done on a gift card hence cancelled....

Seems pretty unfair if you paid full price for the gift card, after all a $250 wish card is supposedly worth $250 in the retail shop... interesting, thanks for the additional info markis10

Edit: It appears that starthere may be in breach with misleading advertising with the following statements (my bolding)

STEP 1 - Click "SHOP HERE"Doing this will take you to the store's website.
STEP 2 - Buy Stuff
Shop as you would normally on the
store's website.
STEP 3 - Get Cashback
Once your transaction has been confirmed, you will automatically receive your cashback.

Frequent Flyer Concierge takes the hard work out of finding award availability and redeeming your frequent flyer or credit card points for flights.

Did that process and I then received a 3 day offer of 10% off from starthere so that gets me 15% off if I can think what alcohol I need.
Hang on I am down to $833 of Woolies gift cards so I cannot buy a room full.

As much as I love a good opportunity to earn easy QFF, today I took up the Dan Murphy offer 6 X Bin 150 2010 marananga shiraz saving me ~$79 than if purchased off epiQure..... I guess I did miss out on the 3 QFF per $, but I do not value the 1260 points anywhere near the money saved...

YMMV but if epiQure want my business, the pencil needs to be way sharper :D

You're probably never going to get a 'sharper pencil' with Penfolds from EpiQure... other wines, perhaps.

Sadly I believe you to be correct there... Also sadly the Bin 150 is now locked down and secured into the cellar for the next few years (2 to 5), from what I tasted from this vintage last week, this one is going to be excellent for many years to come, on the upside, to create the necessary room for my new purchase, some 2005 389 has now been moved into the drinking rack yum :p
