Would anyone with a 6000 point balance be kind enough to price ADL-KUL in J for May 2014, one adult, return. Dates don't matter too much I'm just after the cash component of miles+cash. But planning for a 9 day turn around if that helps.

If you use points plus pay you only need minimum of 1000 per flight, hopefully giving you 38 sectors!

2k points & $1400 return MEL-KUL in J is quite good enough for me!!!

<EDIT>Make that 1k per round trip...

It's 6 people I want to travel together.

I have 2 tix on QF SYD/LHR on 1/1/14

One in F all the way and the other J to DXB then F to LHR

With this opffer I can do J for both people (daytime flight which is fine- have done it before), SYD/KUL then separate booking in F on A380 KUL/LHR and save close to 200,000 equivalent QF points

I am WP so still get lounge access and taxes as almost the same.

Have trf'ed points from Altitude to Enrich to cover the KUL / LHR leg as didnt have enough in Enricjh to do bot Syd/KUL and KUL LHR bookings

Lets hope point get there in time and F class still there!!

Then I will cancel the QF tix

otherwise I will have 160,000 Enrich points sitting waiting for some other flights another day?

Otherwise

1 pax in J ADL-KUL return requires 6,000 miles + cash $1,283.21 ($816 fare + $467.21 taxes, surcharges)

That's a bargain for J class! Can I add another OS trip to my itineray for the next 12 months?? No (I think 7 already booked is enough :) )

It sure is, but I'm having to talk people up from $750 (Y is irrelevant) to $1283 "for a 7 hour flight".

all good. finally caught the web site at a good moment.
so that's the 3 X generations girly trip to F1 booked. J X return for all of us. Nanny and MsKLN Junior very excited.
catching the new 8.20am flight too, so it will be like having an extra day there by arriving in the afternoon. more pool and foot massage time!
Yay!!

Thanks heaps. Kicking myself over points transfer choices now. :(

Extra data:
the dummy booking I did was for travel in May 2014,
ie within the promo's travel period.
I just did another dummy booking,
for travel in July 2014, outside the promo period,
and here are the figures:

6,000 miles + $1,954.21 (fare $1,487 + taxes, surcharges $467.21).

So it's cheaper in the promo period because of the fewer miles required.

More data:

June is 1,000 miles + $1,394 MEL-KUL return and 1,000 points + $2,065 in July.
June is 1,000 miles + $2,424 KUL-FRA return

MEL-KUL-FRA return is therefore 2,000 miles + ~$3,820! Compared to cash fare of ~$7K!

Thanks! I had a pre-promo price around that mark. It is a good reduction. Just wish I got the 15% transfer promo or didn't take up the VA 15% transfer promo. Typical stupidity on my part.

I also can't get any AAwards on MH via the website either. I have some points there. ;)

I just booked mine for Easter 2014 long weekend as that's all the holiday I have available without chewing into my work annual leave.

Just redeemed 3948 miles for SYD - KUL ticket return on J class and paid AUD1345 for the balance.

BARGAIN! I get to use the QF Business Lounge in SYD airport and MH Golden Lounge in KLIA airport to top it off...

Who is high five-ing?

Can you use more miles and less $ for the return business class ticket?

Gah, I only just found out about this promo!

I don't suppose Altitude or Amex transfer instantly to MH nowadays? I have heaps of points in both of those programs, but no MH points!

I would expect Amex points shouldn't take longer than a day to transfer.

Hm, we can get BNE-KUL return for about 32k miles + $2500 for both of us in J. It'd be a bargain for a quick weekend jolly if we didn't already have another 2 big trips booked. The thought of staying at the Ritz Carlton for $200 per night in their 1 bedroom residence plus a quick weekend shopping spree is very tempting. Decisions, decisions, and 6 hours till the sale ends.................

Do it!!

We Got 5 trips planned over the next 10 months! Can't for anymore 'jollies 'in.

I transferred points from Amex on Wednesday 4th 8am, still not arrived. Amex said it would take 2 days. Malaysia now say it'll take a week, but might be there on Monday morning!
looks like they sucked me in...

That's annoying. I know an AFFer who TF points from Amex on Mon 2/12 am, and the points did not arrive into the Enrich account til Thurs 5/12....3 business days later.
