Emptyjets.com.au Standby private charters

We dont really have a fractional ownership market here that such a scheme could use, most jets are not flying empty, the corporate ones fly to their destination, wait for the meeting to conclude then fly back, and the purpose of the jets is often to provide a schedule and privacy the business requires.

If you take out the corporate jets that never charter, and the private jets that are 100% private such as **** Smith etc, there is not really much of a fleet flying around empty.

At current count there are 120 registered Bizjets in Australia including one that is situated under water at Norfolk.

Sam, most if not all private jets leave from completely different terminals if not different airports.

I also would rather travel by private plane.

A second vote for private planes. It's like another world. Bear in mind that there is, however, a big difference between a craft like a Citation X and a Global Express/G550.

I imagine that a SYD-MEL sector may start at Bankstown, or an FBO at SYD, and arrive at MEB.

Some interesting past flights including an Aerostar bank run, a very expensive commute Bankstown Sydney, and the cray run from Killecrankie, not exactly routes I would imagine are in demand.

Yikes! An Aerostar is a very unforgiving aircraft at the best of times & didn't get the nickname 'Deathstar' for nothing. Pilots should not attempt to do an aerobatic cough in this a/c & should leave that to a Pitts Special or CT4 IMHO.

Private charter to me is something like a Gulfstream IV or 3B at the very least. Gotta love those engines!

Well, for $30 I had to sign up, just couldn't resist.

SYD-BNE, 4 pax, $950 - not quite a red edeal, but not too expensive, just hope one is scheduled the next time I take the family to SYD.

So looking by the lack of anyone ever having travelled by this scheme could it be safe to call it a scam instead and the only ride punters are getting is by the website owners taking their $30 from them???

They don’t seem to have takers here that report back regularly, but their facebook group seems to have people that enjoy using the service.

I finally had a look. I'm having trouble understanding the pricing (surprise, surprise)

so when they list say Mt Gambier - Adelaide 15 pax $560. Is that $560 per pax or all up?

Cause there was a flight listed to dubai as 8 pax $28000. All up that would be a good deal, per pax would be bad.

$560 for the 1 person up to 15 pax as total payment for use of the aircraft.

PS: I don't really buy their statements about how much of a saving it is to go places you weren't planning on going to at short notice. Even more unlikely to find 15 people that want to go one way. All of that being said, I still think of landing a CJ2 flight to Cairns for Mrs Albatross & I one weekend.

The whole thing is a joke, there is rarely empty jets flying around in Australia.

thanks.
So $28000 per person to dubai is basically rubbish. And I don't care what people say about a private jet beating any F.

ps. great dream!

I joined the site about a month ago - am still waiting to find the MEL/SIN G5 relocation flight for $2500 ;)

I wait in anticipation as their website seems to no longer exist..

Also have a look at Private Jet Charter | Air Charter | Private Jets | Aircraft Sales | Emtjets

LOL

Mr!

Well, months after joining, and looking at the site quite regularly, the only flights that would appropriately fit my schedule were two ex KTA. the problem was, they were heading to ASP!

The cost listed is the aircraft charter price. The PAX listed is the MAX number of PAX you can have onboard - so if a $2500 MEL/SIN G5 relocation fare comes up (yeah right), I pay $2500 for the AC then choose X number of PAX allowed who pay $0

I know deep down that the $30 was wasted, but I dont care - $30 equates to 3 beers in KTA, delivery costs of 2 pizzas in KTA ( ), 35 seconds at Crown Casino, 1 years subscription fee to dream at empty jets!

If anyone wants a closer look at the site (and I know you personally!), pm me and I'll give you my username & p/w
