We are planning a trip to Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan in October and it looks like EK flights to Dubai then FlyDubai (FZ) to Tashkent are most convenient for our itinerary. However, it looks like an EK marketed ticket costs 20% more than a QF codeshare to DXB + separate FZ ticket to Tashkent. With a potential 24-hour layover in Dubai, we are considering a stopover and were made aware of the Emirates Stopover Package. This would be particularly handy as they have a 24-hour check in/out policy plus return airport-hotel transfers.
  1. Does anyone have any experience with this stopover package and is it cost-effective?
  2. Would a QF codeshare SYD-DXB (on EK metal) qualify?? The rep on the EK 1300 number said it would but seemed not to be familiar with the package itself
Thanks for any help.

I wouldn't think so. If it is anything like the stopover packages offered by RJ in Amman, they'd require own code bookings.
