I sent them a screen capture of my Velocity account page showing, I've just received an email back asking for a scan of my card.

Hopefully it's a good sign

No go matching VA Platinum in this household.
Their first reply was that they'd not match Platinum, but would consider EK Gold, and they'd get back to us. Second reply was "not possible".

I am Gold with Qantas and as I don't fly regularly with Emirates I'm also Skywards Blue. I requested a status match to Skywards Gold but was only offered silver as apparently Emirates only match to the next tier level ie silver. Have any other AFFs experienced this?

I am WP with VFF and after receiving a call from Emirates Sydney to ask me some questions I was told that I would be matched to Skywards gold. I received my pack late last week and it was silver - not really what I was hoping for

I tried the same and got offered silver too.

I applied in january this year through their website. Am a VA WP. After numerous emails, they first stated they don't have a level equivalent to WP, so they I asked to be matched to Gold, and they obliged. I received the Gold pack after about 6 weeks or so. Maybe things have changed since January.

No harm in trying. A few emails won't cost you anything. If you do get it though - will you take more EK flights over VA/EY ?

This is their offer. Silver provides business lounge access in Dubai only.

I was offered a 'maybe' silver a few months ago but after interrogation by their Australian office over the phone was denied.

Tried for status match for my wife (QF PS) and myself (QF & VA WP) on the weekend. All cards expire in the next 3 months. Was told before they match will have to show cards or some proof of greater than 6 months validity.

Was told they can submit a request to upgrade the status to silver for us both, as they will only match to the next tier level (i.e. we are both EK Blue so match both to Silver, not I am WP so they will only match to Gold as I interpreted the 1 level rule). I told them not to bother for me as I will be EK SG in a couple of months and will then request a match up one level to EK WP.

Will let you know how it goes.

As WPs in QF, after initially promising silver, EK refused status match to anything.

We've subsequently got to EK WP but by flying EK.
