Can't see the point. They (QF and EK) have already given each others FF's reciprocal privileges. Unless I has read it wrong

I'm just surprised this is the first I'm hearing about matches, as usually this forum is all over status for nothing, and collecting as many as they can
and wouldn't be surprised if they did match Qantas, similar to VA/ANZ matches sometimes coming through. Then there's always, as is now mentioned, a VA match to EK. Suddenly those who went with VA and dropped (or never had) QF status can get into a QF lounge if their employer has booked them on Qantas.

I can't see any benefit in a WP asking for a status match to Skywards. I can't see them matching to their own platinum level. Might be worth it for VA domestic flyers.

I was matched last year from WP to Skywards Gold - this was before they launched their Platinum offering. Had some nice benefits too - including myself and 3 friends traveling on the same PNR from Dubai to Nairobi all being upgraded to J. I'll just use QF now though.

Am I blind...? I'm VA Gold now but will be WP in 3 weeks... if they matched VA Plat to the same level would that mean F Lounge when flying QF? Or am i getting ahead of myself...

Yes they will Status Match you. I have done this very easily, along with other coworkers.
If you have 6 months validity on VA Gold or Plat status they will give you Skywards Gold for 15 months.
Just send a scan of card along with a quick request message.
I did mine only 3 weeks ago and can now use it for the entire Qantas Domestic Network to get into QP.

Fill out the contact box and attach a PDF scan of your membership card and in the "How can we help?" section, tell them you would like a status match as you are planning to fly with Emirates more often. Takes about 12 hours for reply and then 36 hours until they match you. Received my pack just a couple of days ago. Have been in QP twice with status so far.
Yes they will ask for your Skywards Acc number, I just made an account on the day of submission (Free to join).
