The increase in EK Skywards miles required for ex Australia redemptions is very annoying but at least they have provided some notice. The changes are effective 30June'13.

HOWEVER flights ex Syd/Bne/Mlb to Bkk/Kul/Sin now seem to be codeshare routes with QF and booking on EK site does not allow Skywards miles to be redeemed on EK metal !

Why, as an Emirates customer, I cannot redeem these sectors on an EK flight? Also, there has been no notice period for this change.

(OK I am not a EK customer yet.....had enough Citi-Emir points for business to SEAsia and now don't have enough because of this no notice change)

So they're putting up the number of miles required and going to be charging fuel surcharges at least one way was it??

Well that sounds like a big win for EK members of the QF-EK tie up!?!?!

It's ridiculous isn't it. They specifically said benefits would align to the higher benefit. So up the miles and add fuel surcharges! Just from Australian destinations, crazy.
