Emirates long-haul economy

If you can select a seat on an Emirates flight you won't lose it. But either way, you're likely to have very young children around you.

99% of the time is true, but on an oversold flight is untrue.

I have lost my seat due to operational upgrade, turned down operational upgrade to fly in economy with wife and three kids who objected to not flying with me, so they moved all of us around and was third proposal that we accepted, but wouldn't move the person they put in my seat they took off me.

I know of a lot of people who get moved with them juggling to put whole families together. But they block rows of seats on flights these days so they can allocate them to families and grounds at check in or 48 hours out when they pre-allocate most people a seat who have not already picked one.

I thought I had chosen seats for EK A380 flight SIN-MEL in August but looks like I haven't.

Relatively busy economy cabin. I can have 42H (2nd row economy) or 67G bulkhead which is next to bassinet. The bassinet doesn't worry me but what is the likelihood of losing 67G. It would appear 67F is bassinet and 62DE are just bulkhead seats but both seats occupied. There appear to be 7 bassinets seats and all available.

See if you can get 68k, better seat if you are after bulk head.

It is blocked to be allocated at check in (or if you ring up and push to be allocated it and win) as it is considered an emergency exit allocated seat that requires one to be physically able to and want to assist in an emergency to open exit.

I would check seat map on expert flyer - but you will find it is just blocked.

Here is the view from 68K:
