From ATW Daily News:

Emirates looks to have quickly put the global economic downturn behind it, reporting a net profit of AED3.4 billion ($926 million) for its fiscal year first half ended Sept. 30, significantly widened from an AED752 million profit in the year-ago period.
I suppose cheap operating costs and aggressive market expansion, combined with quality premium cabins shows in the results.

It would be hard for other airlines to emulate their cheap operating costs as most countries have unions and workers have rights, but that is an impressive result!

Some of my airfare helped with this Profit. But I don't mind. It would be less if some other airlines flew to Newcastle and Glasgow. As I have said before we fly to Newcastle twice a year. and we will not fly thru London. So we are left to fly twith EK, yes we can fly AF, or SAS. But the Paris/Copenhagen to Newcastle is Economy, and there are weight restictions. I ask everbody, having flown in J, would you fly cattle. Not I said me.
