Hello all,

I'm a bit disappointed at the lack of award seats available on Qantas website for business class Emirates flight Perth to Dubai in September. The entire month has no business class seat on departure or return.

Going through Emirates website shows availability near every day for 99,000 points one way and few hundred in taxes/fees.

Does this all sound correct and any other way I may be missing on booking these flights?

Etihad is similar with approx 78,000 through velocity or 95,000 through etihad website with slightly less tax.

Welcome to the world of fake alliances. There is no requirement for EK or QF to reciprocate award inventory like Oneworld mandates it's partner airlines do.

Your only choice is pay cash or fly another airline.

I actually managed to book return business class reward tickets to UK from Perth. These are on EK and were booked on the Qantas website. I found them in February for travel in October. I'll admit I was surprised at the time. But they were available for at least a few days. I found them, applied for time off from work and then booked them a day or two later.

It's generally possible to book business/first to from BKK even at the last minute.
