Hi all, couldn't find a thread on this but please move if there is one that I missed.

Mrs_G and I are flying to Milan with Emirates on the A380 in economy in October and the seat config is quite different to last time I took a 380. And with the demise of seatguru I can't get much idea.

Looking at the Emirates seat plans, there are two cabins, a forward cabin where all the seats are marked as 'preferred' but accessible to my QF gold status, and a rear cabin. Both are 3/4/3 so I was thinking of either window and middle or a pair in the centre block of 4. Will probably depend on Mrs G's desire to clamber over on a 15hr flight.

Can anyone give any feedback on the front or rear cabin choice? Both cabins are pretty clear at the moment, I can't imagine why....

Select the front cabin for now given that it's complimentary and move to the rear if there are still empty rows on the day?

Aerolopa and seatmaps.com both offer a replacement to Seatguru.

If 68A or 68K are available, these are window seats with an ability to walk out to go to the loo.

Controversial!! 🤣

I’ve never considered that space an aisle or walkway, and respect the person in front’s privacy/space.
But it’s not their space?!

Emirates charges $220 or so for these seats when flying from Australia to Europe. Totally worth it, IMO, and I’ve never felt guilty quietly exiting to the toilets,

I can see the reason why people would like to exit via the space, but imagine watching IFE or snoozing and you have someone’s butt or crotch centimetres from your face, and coming by surprise?

YMMV :D

interesting topic for discussion!

I don’t know, to me it’s worse when people in window have to use the seats in front for support when climbing out.
