For some reason I seem to be getting a huge amount of notification emails from AFF - this has been clogging up my inbox therefore AFF emails are going to the junk folder.

Anyway I tried to find the options/settings page on here that controls the email notifications so I could switch off, but can't for the life of me find where to do this.

Any advice would be great...

Cheers

I also have no idea how to turn this off but I have my AFF account linked to an email I exclusively use for junk, spam and internet shopping that Shrek is oblivious to ;)

Using the link above, mine thread subscription mode is "Do Not Subscribe". I found I never read the emails
I have never subscribed to any threads on forums. I would be deleting emails from my inbox all day.

As soon as I reply, I am automatically subscribed. When the email arrives, there is a hyperlink in the email to unsubscribe which I choose if I no longer wish to partake in that thread

You can set up your preferences so you’re not automatically subscribed ;)

OK... so I'm officially annoyed that I can't seem to get this right.

As a big user of Quick Links > Subscribed Threads, I have found that although the emails have stopped, so have the "threads" appearing in this "Subscribed Threads" section. This therefore means that I need to trawl through the "New Posts" pages hunting for green arrows that indicate that i've contributed to that thread.

So - can someone walk me through the instructions to:

- ensure that I do not receive emails for subscribed threads
- ensure that I can still see my subscribed threads in the "Subscribed Threads" menu

Cheers

When you subscribe to a thread you can choose a number of ways to be notified:

- Through control panel
- Instant email
- Weekly email
- Monthly email

I have clicked on that unsubscribe link several times today; and my page shows no subscribed threads. But as soon as I post into that thread, it subscribes me again. How do I stop that happenening please? It is an active thread and my email box is getting bombed.

Go here: http://www.australianfrequentflyer.com.au/community/profile.php?do=editoptions

Under Messaging and Notifications, change the setting "Default Thread Subscription Mode" to "Do Not Subscribe"

Click on "Save changes"

Okay varying slightly from the original topic...

...I've noticed on the iPad and iPhone app (tapatalk) that the 'messages' inbox displays an 'unknown error' message when I select it.

I can, however, then navigate to 'sent items', which loads okay. Anyone else having this error?

TIA

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

We use corporate google apps for our email. I set up a filter to label the AFF emails into their own label and bypass the inbox.

When I am ready to think about escaping the world overseas I click on the AFF label to look for my chosen entry point for the night.

I currently have in excess of 70 different 'labels' and 'filters' managing the daily email intake and have reasonable success at controlling what I see and when.

Hey oz_mark, I did that last night, but later received another subscription from that pesky 'qantas brand' thread. I will try again now, maybe it takes some time for the system to recognise the request.
Cheers
No, that only work for new threads you reply to from here on in.

You will need to 'unsubscribe' from those threads you were automatically subscribed to before you changed the setting.

Do that here: http://www.australianfrequentflyer.com.au/community/subscription.php

Yep, I have been deleting these subscriptions as they reappeared. Then I found the control for changing the default to 'do not subscribe' control as mentioned above. So as of my post today at 7.54 - I had it set to 'do not subscribe' and had deleted all my subscriptions. But guess what, I just got an email re your post serfty and I was again subscribed to this thread. Which I have again deleted! Sigh.

I have set subscription notifications to "Control Panel", yet I continually receive emails telling me that Joe Flyer (or whoever) has posted a new message in whatever threads I'm subscribed to.

If I unsubscribe, then I can't view the threads that I'm participating in as a collective list, can I?

The other option that I can see, is to unsubscribe and to then create bookmarks for each thread, then scroll through till I find the last read messages.

Yep. I can't stop them either.

My suggestion is setup a separate email account to divert and quarantine all the email notifications.
