Two hot dishes each night. Can't remember the selection for Saturday. Last night I had the small pork dim sims which were very tasty. They also had falafel balls. No rice and curry (on either night). Cold pasta/salad, smoked salmon, meats, breads, good cheese platter, and cake/pudding slices. Self-pour spirits, one red wine and one white and a bubbly, beer.

Edit: The EL staff were excellent, coming around to ask if everything was okay and for drinks if you didn't want to self-pour. Four staff on the Saturday night and three on Sunday. Lounge was never full despite the long weekend.

Sorry to bring this dead post back to life.

Has anybody had any recent experiences at HSP? I have booked my first stay there, and arrived at the very end of this month for two nights.

The hotel confirmed with me over the phone that all normal HHonors benefits would be provided after seeing above posts (but just noticed that was particularly for the residences)
I've noticed the lack of a mention of any Wifi in the exec lounge, this could just be forgotten or is it not offered? I am hoping to have a few business meetings in the lounge as its very easy for a short stay..

Re: HH Gold lounge access for Hilton Surfers Residences?

Hey everyone,
I know this is probably going to go unnoticed by the hotel, however is anyone aware of the correct side of the hotel that faces towards the beach?
Trying to do an OCI, Although I might just leave it...

I wonder if that map is oriented top to the north, I have not been there so its a guess versus actual experience but I have a hunch they would make the widest side ocean facing, i.e. on the right.

Thats my thinking also... I just called the hotel to ask, and they said not to do it as they had an upgrade in the system for me.. Hopefully that follows through.

I would never check-in on-line, for that exact reason. Good that the hotel mentioned this to you.

Edit: Was North the top of that diagram?

Can you check your HH account and see if they have allocated you a room yet ?

The ocean is to the bottom of that floor plan.

Just checked, they've Allocated me a relaxation room, and a paid upgrade of $40 extra a night for the suite... Might be handy considering I have local friends coming for dinner.
I'll see how I feel tomorrow.

The junior suites are too small to entertain. Keep the relaxation rooms. Great views.

I'm pretty confident top is east in that diagram.

Agree with that after some digging, if you rotated the image 90 degrees left it would have N at the top.

Agree that the relaxation room has better views. Relaxation suite has a balcony if that's your thing - I found it too windy and there was no furniture out there.

Have posted this also in the main elite thread, but incase future guests check this thread:
Hotel: Hilton Surfers Paradise:
2 Nights (29th-31st Jan)
Room Booked: King Executive
Room Received: Relaxation Suite.

Executive Lounge: Disappointing outside of main service times, but good options for evening Drinks/canapes. GREAT views.
Buffet at Salt: Good options, much like other Hilton Buffets.

Had to call down for comp gold water, no GM card or welcome amenity ( as suggested in room rate)
Late check out for 3pm granted.
The room itself is fine, it is comfortable but lacks the Hilton finish ( ripped towels, stained carpets) size is more like a standard exec room at HSW with a TINY couch.

The Staff have all been friendly and helpful so far, and the hotel is definitely comfortable and nice... Just lacking the special Hilton something.

Thanks for the feedback on HSP.

Although I've never been in a Relaxation Suite at HSP, I've stayed in their Relaxation Room and it was almost twice the size of the standard/Exec rooms at Hilton Sydney.

It seems odd that your Relaxation Suite at HSP would be so small, as you have experienced.

I'm probably exaggerating a little, but the living room is tiny, and bedroom is about the same size.
It kind of seems like it may have been an afterthought suite, certainly even half the size of 1BR suites I've had at HSW or Sydney.
Never a worry though while the weather is so nice outside!

The relaxation room (in my opinion) is better than the relaxation suite. The bedroom is not a bad size but the living area is pokey.....more to do with shape I think. The balcony is waste (horrid would be too strong of a word, but gives the idea) and Hilton themselves obviously realise that as they don't bother even with furniture out there. Stick with the relaxation room...that's our favourite out of the whole hotel.
