Does anyone have recommendations for an electric toothbrush with a universal charging base? I'd rather not have to purchase multiple units due to voltage restrictions if possible.

Thanks! :)

I have a standard Oral-B unit that I bought here. It's always in my travel bags - I use another one for home. Although it says 220-240V/50-60Hz, it does charge the brush everywhere I've been including the USA (110V). It's got an Australian plug of course but that fits most shaver power outlets in hotels (it's lower power than a shaver), so you can keep your AC adaptor for other things.

The Philips sonicare range are all rated 110-250V 50-60Hz.
They have a lithium ion battery and charge lasts three weeks.
Mrs B's oral B died 3 weeks ago and she wanted a multivoltage unit.
If I had read Austman's comment might have got another oral B.
However, the sonicare unit she purchased has a smaller charger than the oral B, two handles, four brushes and a neat carry case.
Cheaper than comparable oral B as well.
Personally I prefer the brush on the oral B, but for battery life and the case, the sonicare is a great unit.

Thanks for the advice! I had been looking at the latest Sonicare but it's very helpful to know they all come with the universal base. It doesn't look like many people travel with an electric toothbrush though!

I've generally used a battery powered job when I'm traveling, but they are a poor substitute for the real thing.

Philips Sonicare Diamondclean!!!!!!!!

I just recently bought this from the US because it uses USB to charge. Seriously love this toothbrush, already bought a second handle for the missus. The worst thing is being on a long business trip for a week and having to resort to "manually" brushing your teeth. I know, first world problems, but your teeth just don't feel the same if you've been using an electric toothbrush and then having to brush manually.

I use the oral B 5000. Bought it from amazon and is 110v but charges fine in AU and able to be used everywhere so far. Not sure if it's rated to 240v or if I'm killing it but there you go. Right now myer have this model with $15 off per $75 and oral b have a cash back. If you buy today you can also get the $110 of myer vouchers for $100 so your total outlay for the $149 brush would be $124 plus 60cash back ( think its $60). Not a bad price.

Oral-B Vitality here. Product Finder | Vitality A perfectly good product that can be used with Oral-B brushes (it even comes with 2) and can be found for around $30. So cheap I have two - one for home and one in my travel kit.
