EK415 timing change [15 hours earlier]

I am trying to do the same with EK409 and EK407 Qantas points booking. Does your QFF status make a difference when making this sort of request?
Update - after approx 1.5 hrs on the line - the agent is attempting to call Emirates to request the change. Agent has just requested if they can call me back. So, I now wait and see if I actually do get a call back.

In theory status should have nothing to do with it as when travelling on points EK is the carrier and operator, QF is nothing more than the booking agent (similar to a TA). I do have status with QF and that status gets me through to the CC quicker and by some accounts better informed agents who know how things work. In my case I do not think QF ever called EK, what I saw in my account approximately 1 hour after calling was the original booking, EK409 and another for EK407. Checking on the EK site via MMB both flights were also there however EK407 was showing as not confirmed, 24 hours later EK409 was gone and replaced with EK407.

Thanks Matt 01.
Now just waiting to see if anything happens.

We had EK409 booked 2115 departure and was moved to 0600 and EK407 now the 2115. Connecting to DXB-FRA.

It was a bit of a pain as QF award booking but eventually resolved by moving us back to EK407 2115 departure.

QF have to request EK release the seat on the “new” flight. Can take 24-72hrs to approve and sounds a very manual process.

As above, it should flow through after a couple of days once QF have put in the request. I eventually got a call back but i could see the change online earlier.

I’d be emphasising if it falls over that you booked the 2115 departure and it is still going and you want to be on that.

The system appears just to have kept everyone on EK409 (at its’ new departure time) as presumably that is easier than manually changing everyone to EK407.

One wonders why they didn’t make the “new” flight EK407 but i expect it relates to reverting to the (pre-pandemic) flight numbers. But means a lot of manual adjustments - I wonder how many people wont think to chase and just cope the 0600 departure…..

I have now sent an email to the customer service address, after speaking to two agents. No reply even acknowledging the receipt of my email. Will try the phone again in a few days, just in case something does happen.

My last call to get back on my original time was 10 days ago and have heard nothing since. Nothing has changed in the booking either. I just don’t have the energy to deal with them right now. Lol.

Similarly, nothing has changed for me.
Last week, F on EK85 was available so I could have kept the EK415 flight at 6am, arriving in DXB at 13:20 and then onto EK85 departing at 15:35.

But then part of me thought what if Emirates changes their flight schedules again and the 2nd daily flight doesn't end up going ahead? Then my DXB-ZRH leg will be messed up. So much uncertainty at the moment definitely isn't helping with all the travel planning...

I have progress!!!

I rang a 1300 number listed in the QF call centre thread and after being on hold for 40min I got through to somebody who was so helpful and knew what they were doing. My booking now shows both EK413 and EK415 and she said it should be resolved within about 24h. She is working again on Sunday and said she would check my booking to make sure everything was sorted. It was so nice to have somebody competent.

I did however get questioned about how I had the phone number I called on.

Good luck Frodo and RobP

Well I am a happy camper. Wendy from Qantas called back this afternoon and my change is all confirmed. Now flying CBR/SYD/DXB/AMS all on without any overnights and back onto original Syd departure time. TIcketing is still to come through but seats are selected and Emirates site shows confirmed.

I just received my notification that my F award EK415 SYD-DXB flights have been moved to 6:00. My travel starts in MEL, so I had a separate revenue booking from MEL-SYD.

I plan to give QF a call today and ask them to contact EK to put me back on the 21:45 flight. Wish me luck.

Good luck, I hope you have a painless time. Stand strong and insist it can be changed back to 413. My ticketing came through last night so I am set until the next cancellation/border closure.

I used the premium line to call QF and got through instantly. They agent was nice and helpful but didn't know what to do. I explained that I've seen reports of EK honouring the original itinerary on EK413 when contact was made. He put me on hold for 45 minutes while he contacted his QF support team (escalation / help desk I assume?) and told me they've sent an email request to EK.

I just checked my account now, an hour after my call ended and can see both EK415 and EK413 under my booking. Looking positive so far.

In same situation re EK415 and attempting to have our Classic Award business class travel rebooked onto EK413. So far I’ve been on the call for 1 hour, while the offshore QF agent attempts to speak to their support desk. I was just asked if we would consider downgrading, due no J class award availability on EK413. I said absolutely not. What a bloody waste of time this all is for us and what an absolute cough-up by Emirates.

After 1 hour and 15 minutes on hold with the QF agent, I just got cut off. I gave our mobile number at the start of the call and asked for a call back if we got cut off. I’m waiting…..

No call back received from QF agent (as requested), but our itinerary on the QF website is now showing EK415 -AND- EK413 confirmed, like other cases above. Time for bed. Will see what the morning brings, although we’re hoping reissued tickets!

I did indeed just get a call back from the same QF agent, who has advised we are now booked on EK413 - although apparently some liaising with Emirates (by QF) is still required!?!?
I have been assured that we will receive reissued tickets via email within 24 hours.
Thank god for that and thank god for the feedback from others on this page 🙏

Same story here, was booked on EK415 in F departure time changed from 9:45pm to 6:00am. Asked to be moved to EK413 but was instead moved from EK415 to QF8415. Next day went through the same process when Qantas system updated their code share flight to 6:00am departure. Now seeing EK413 on Emirates with no seat assignment and status of "New flight schedule" but my booking has disappeared completely on Qantas.

Hope that gets sorted for you, but stories like that is why I'm afraid to call up and get it changed, although it seems like a few ppl have had better luck

My booking went from EK415 only, to EK413 + EK415, then to EK413 only but had no ticket issued after 48 hours. I called QF again this morning and the agent said it was waiting on my confirmation, even thought I requested it 2 days ago. The agent sorted it out and needed to check in with the awards team to make sure the points were correctly attributed to the new flights.

Will wait another 24 hours for new tickets to be issued.

All of my most recent calls to Qantas were using the 1300 659 115 number. Very quick to get through, but I was still disappointed to always be talking to QF’s South African call centre (unfortunately too many of the staff there have clearly not been given proper training by QF and demonstrate no telephone etiquette). After being rebooked on EK413 and told that reticketing would soon take place, we woke yesterday morning to find that Emirates had cancelled our booking on EK413. We discovered after calling QF yet again that QF had been unable to cancel our original flight EK415 in their system, so Emirates had cancelled our new booking on EK413 due to two flights being held SYD/DXB. QF’s South African call centre has now liaised with QF’s Auckland ticketing centre (🤦‍♂️) to reinstate EK413 and remove EK415 in our PNR and we are currently awaiting reissued tickets. You certainly need to persevere and be bloody patient!
