Now that QFF members have a taste of the EK "love" so to speak they now are enticing people to sign up to Skywards?

Grass is only perhaps a shade greener on the other side. There are reduction in Skywards earn to, although not quite so dramatic. Nothing to get excited about. Skywards has evolved from one of the more rewarding programs out there (circa 2009) to one of the most useless programs there is unless you are flying EK a lot and accruing a lot of status bonus miles.

I think QF status holders would still be better off on EK. The value of EK's "love" would more than make up for lost QFF point earnings.

Unless someone flys say Australia - Shanghai where they can book a direct QF flight, but cannot book a direct flight on an EK flight number nor get EK status recognized.

I have to fly to Singapore with EK to get my benefits of EK status and then book another airline from SIN-PVG but no EK status recognition, Miles earnt or anything

Or book to fly to Colombo or further west on one PNR, to then book a second PNR onto PVG to fly with EK all the way - but always two PNRs.
