EK announces largest 777 order ever.

Article states EK will have 44 A380s by 2013, that's impressive. Any other airlines come close to those numbers?

Wish I was the salesperson for Airbus looking after the EK account, think of the bonuses!

Are there even that many routes in the world where an A380 is viable? To echo another thought....it's one thing to have the $$ to buy them, but are they going to be useful for much more than decorating a desert airport? :rolleyes:

There is one way to put EK out of business overnight. Build a teleportation machine....:lol:

Yeah, the thing is that Emirates is not just UAE's airline. There are more than enough routes.
They are India's airline, the Philippine's airline, Nigeria's airline and Australia's national flag carrier.
The thing that will put EK out of business is a fuel efficient, fast, non-LCC aircraft that can fly India-Canada/US and Australia-Europe non-stop.
