With VA1 now arriving into LAX at 6.30am instead of the previous 10.25am, what have been the lines like at immigration & customs?

Does the new arrival time clash with a lot of other flights arriving at TBIT?

there is not really any clash per se. See:
LAX flight arrivals, current delays. Real time flight status at Los Angeles International Airport

Also QF adjusting their timetable with QF11 from SYD soon to be arriving 0630 as well as QF15 from BNE
QF 93 from MEL (A380 like QF11) will arrive around 0715
QF107 will no longer fly.

so it will be up against an A380 and a 747 assuming OTA.

Yes it was pretty quiet when I came through about three weeks ago. Much better than the later arrival.

Does VA1 still arrive at the Delta terminal..? Last time I flew into LAX it took literally 15 minutes from seatbelt sign off to stepping into a taxi (after collecting our bags).

VA1 arrives into tom Bradley "B" terminal
VA2 departs from the same.

VA's partner DL is terminal 5, so you will have to reenter security between the two terminals.

Just google "va1" and it will tell you all about the current VA1 flight

So VA1 (Syd) and VA7 (Brisbane) arrive at approx. the same time now?

Edit: Nope. I see my Bris arrival time has changed to 6.55am.

Every time I have been on VA7 we have arrived early, despite pushing departure back in BNE. Reasonable wait getting through LAX but not over the top.

Not quote on topic but when I flew back on VA2 last month we had an estimated flight time some one hour less than normal due to the lack of winds to fly into across the Pacific. As that would have seen us arrive before the curfew was lifted in SYD we waited on the tarmac an extra 20 minutes.

This quite often happens for transpac flights.

It was an odd week. The day before I flew MCO-LAX and arrived half an hour early due to the lack of headwinds. Of course the plane was late arriving in the first place due to the lack of tailwinds!

Was all good this morning - VA7 from Brisbane arrived early at around 6.10am and the lines were fine. VA1 from Sydney had just landed as well.

Has anyone done this new flight from Sydney? Did you manage to get any sleep?

Plenty on board seemed to be unconscious about half an hour into the flight and probably didn't wake up until top of descent. I think I got half an hour there somewhere. Mind you I don't take drugs.

You managed to fall asleep at 11:40am? That is impressive.

Huh?
I know you're having a laff but I can't see where I said that.

I try to avoid knowing what the time is on board although they do flash it up on the big screen for hours at a time with the flight info.

The new flight time out of sydney is 11:40am so you fell asleep 30 mins after that?

No I said I fell asleep 'somewhere' - probably about 1am from exhaustion as I never sleep much on planes.

Doesn't it leave at 140pm though?
