Thanks medhead, I knew I could count on you ;)
AFAIK I am being dudded lotsa lotsa points (my last months spend was over $7k almost entirely on AE as well) so I will have to follow this up with them and get to the bottom of it!

Cheers.

Definitely follow up.

But bear in mind they seem really slow to catch up. I followed up missing points from October and November in January. They made special payments to make good, no problems. But then about 2 days after they final catch up they made the usual payment and that also paid me the missing points! :!: Basically, it was the expected 1.5 extra points for the Dec statement (or something like that) plus exactly the missing points. It was just so exact.

But they still owe me more points since that time, but just random amounts, so I'm really hoping that they sort it all out by about May. and I think they will.

I don't know if this is still the case but when I had the Earth cards a few years ago my statement cycle date and the transfer of points to QF were not related. It was always hard to reconcile the points owed as they could cover 2 statement cycles.

Well the 3 points per $ ended on March 31 :(

However I noted that 4 of my March TX posted with April dates including one sizeable one.

So off the previously efficient on-line complaint form....and hey presto a very friendly call a few days later from Westpac to advise me that I would be given several days grace for late posting March Tx...and that I would gain all points, though it may takea little bit to show up.
Great customer service...thanks Westpac.;)

I do not know if the above applies to all or not. It may have helped that I had over the last several months pumped through about $30/40K on the card and have some sizeable loans with Westpac, and so would be regarded, I assume, as a "valuable" customer.

Anyway was a nice little points run while it lasted...and a good note to finish it on. ;)

Same here. I had the same comment from their c/s, had a panic when a couple of big bills I prepaid where shown as April 1 payments!
I'm awaiting the final points to be deposited so that I can try to reconcile the points/purchases. I can't make head or tail of it at the moment as the deposits don't seem to match anything and some of the points are from the m/c which I haven't used at all.

After my statement issues tomorrow, and the points are posted for that statement period, I’ll be sending off an email asking that they explain these points. I mean, really, what a mess!

They have run the promo in 2 stages. The base points - would normally be earnt are credited separate from the promo bonus points. In the case of the Earth Platinum bonus points are 1.5 per dollar. These points have shown up in my QFF account as being a credited from the M/C - despite that I have not used that card at all. These basically don't match any fix pattern that I can work out. They credit about 10 days after the base points/statement date.

The base points show up shortly (2 days) after the statement issue date and these match exactly to the base 1.5 points per dollar, plus 1 bonus point per dollar for qantas spend. They credit against the Earth AMEX on my statements.

I am just going to add up my $ spend for the period....and multiply by 3 and then add in my Qantas spend for the extra 1.

If it equals what I have been awarded then all good.

Then if not..I will just email the complaint in...and expect a good result.

So far the complaint form has been answered promptly and efficiently..........................................even if the promo awarding has been haphazard.

Exactly, what I'm doing. The customer service has been good in my experience. The haphazard bit is that they seem to be running some sort of manual reconciliation process to do the extra 1.5 points!

I'm even more confused now. I have just received a QF deposit from "Westpac Earth" with prior one's being from Earth Amex & Earth M/C.
Still about 27k short, guess I'll wait a few more weeks and see what happens!
Do JQ purchases qualify for an additional point?

Ditto...my last two have been called Westapc earth.

Based on past patterns...I am expectly a third on about the 20th...which should pay out my owed points.

On the 2nd April, I received this:

02 APR 09 WESTPAC EARTH 01APR09 - - - 1 -

Wow, 1 point. This has been the first to show up as this, with the previous as others showing EARTH MASTERCARD or EARTH AMERICAN EXPRESS.

My points don't add up either. Based on my calcs I'm short at least 75,000 points. I will wait until the 20th (mine seem to catch up about then also). I'll be interested to see if they resolve all this, and if not, how they respond to my request for an audit!

In a word no.

Westpac Earth Qantas Benefits said:
Selected Qantas products and services are Qantas passenger flights (with a QF flight number) booked directly with Qantas; Qantas Club and Qantas Frequent Flyer memberships; and purchases from ‘Qantas Travel’ customer shopfronts. Please note you do not earn an extra point per $1 spent on purchases from Qantas Holidays, Hotels on qantas.com, Qantas Freight, Qantas Business Travel, Jetset Travelworld channels, Qantas Staff Travel or Jetstar flights and services. When you spend at least $500 on the selected Qantas products and services you’ll pay a fixed rate of 5.99% p.a. on those transactions. To activate this rate you must call us on 1300 762 284 and notify us after the transaction. From the date you notify us, the promotional rate will apply to that purchase. You will lose the benefit of the interest free days on all credit purchases where the closing balance (including any balance transfer and promotional amount, including any amount to which the promotional 5.99%p.a.fixed rate applies) is not paid in full by the statement due date each month. Prior to notifying us, the standard variable interest rate on purchases will apply to that purchase.

Well it is the 23rd and another 8K of points posted today.

So that means I am pretty close now to having had all points post..about 2 or 3 K short.

my final "extra" payment was 9k.

My calculations show that I am still owed more than 10,300 points. I called Westpac Earth and they reckon all bonus points will be resolved and deposited by 1 May. Hmmm...

Yeah right!

I'm going to have spend a few hours manually calculating all of this. I don't trust Westpac. This whole promotion has been mismanaged from the start.

I totally agree. It has been such a shamble....I am still short 1500 odd points but I am debating whether to start chasing Westpac again.

Perhaps they are hoping people would just give up tracking the points down.....

Get real. Westpac have been very good with the promo from my end. Go and read the 400+ page thread AMEX section for a bad promo.

Yeah, the stuffed up with the points crediting right at the start. It seems pretty clear that Plat cards were only getting points at the gold card rate. But they were quick to fix the problem and put in place a work around system to address the issue. Unfortunately, the system seems to involve a manual reconcillation., But the points are turning up. In my case I raised a complaint about missing points so theu credited about the right amount and then 2 days later the manual checking system caught up and the missing points got credited again.

I certainly be willing to give Westpac until 1 May, but if no points by then put in the points request quick.
