I'm looking at getting (for my mum) a QF 1.5ppd Amex to supplement my Altitude Black to spread the points around between programs. Considering that it already gives me a World MasterCard there is no real benefit in having another one. With that in mind, how does the Earth Black with its $395pa fee stack up to the CBA, ANZ and NAB Platinum (QF) cards?

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

You cannot have too many credit cards. What's wrong with you having it and not your mum. Or both?
But more seriously it does depend on your spend and goal(s). I can justify, to myself even if no-one else, the fee on any credit card that anyone wants to allot me.
Even if it mostly lives in the drawer little things like special points, or balance transfer, offers mean that it sees the CC machine a few times a year. And there are times when the more firepower you have the better.
Also a variety of cards makes you more immune to "enhancements"
That said the disadvantages of Westpac are: no points for BPay, fewer points offers than NAB. I'm sure there are more. I'll let you now when I think of them

Too many enquiries on my credit file recently for me to have a crack in my own name--saving it for converting my Citi Clear Plat to a Signature.
I'm generally thinking that the Westpac will be an earn and churn card and the ANZ QF Plat she'll also be getting will stick around for the $100pa less annual fee (compared to the WBC one).
