Earning SC on AA Advantage Bookings

Tried many search terms but haven't found anything solid, can anybody confirm if you earn QF SC's when redeeming a AA Advantage Miles based fare?

I need a bunch of points to retain status and this would be a great way of doing it (buying miles with the bonus that ends tomorrow). Obviously not much point if you don't earn SC's.

First welcome aboard Jerry86.

Secondly, you don't earn, FF points or SCs for AA redemption bookings.

But if you travel to the US you can do some nice cheap status runs to attain the desired status.

No, you would not. it is an award ticket. Heck, QF got rid of xASA's so short of the odd promotion by QF like the recent "earn SC's on classic Y awards" you won't earn SC's on a mileage award - almost certainly from another mileage program.
