Last year as an EXP with AA I earned a min of 125 miles with discounted ecomony tickets, but 500 points when flying on BA i.e LHR-CDG 125 miles/500 points.

Couple of weeks back I did JNB-PLZ on BA (Comair): earned 141 + 2 Bonus miles total 143 miles. However only got 143 points.

Has the policy changed or is this something with flying in South Africa.

Effective March 1, 2008, British Airways flights no longer earn elite-status bonus miles.

AAdvantage Executive Platinum®, AAdvantage Platinum®, and AAdvantage Gold® members will earn a minimum of 500 miles on eligible fare tickets/routings with the exception of discount Economy Class fares, which earn a minimum of 125 miles.

Sorry I should have clearer. I know about bonus miles not being given by BA after March 1st. My question is about elite qualifying miles/points

As an EXP , the min earning of miles has stayed the same

For BA , that is 25% of flown miles with a min earning is 125 miles on discount fares

The number of EQPs earned no longer has any minimum so is purely a ratio in relation of number of miles earned

If the fare basis earned is 1 qpoint per mile flown , you will now earn that value with no minimum

So if you earned 143 base miles and it is 1 point per mile earned , your qpoint earning is 143
