Hi guys, few months ago. I have booked an economy ticket via flight centre as follows

ICH - SIN (Asiana) - SIN - MEL (QANTAS)
MEL - NRT (QANTAS) - ICH (Asiana)

I've noticed that only the Qantas leg has miles earned. Despite having Asiana frequent membership as well. Asiana has been telling us we can only earn Qantas miles.
Is this true?
Im so confused as they are not alliance and shouldnt we be getting Asiana miles for the legs flown with Asiana as well
?

It is possible to put different frequent flyer numbers against different segments in a booking, but most Airline agents are reluctant to do this (or even acknowledge it can be done).

A good TA should have no problems.

How did you book the travel?

Just via flight centre. They did it for me

Do you have a Star Alliance frequent Flyer scheme where you would like to award points?

(You will not get any Qantas points on Asiana metal.)

Contact Flight Centre and ask them to put the Qantas FF number against Qantas segments and the Star Alliance number against the Asian segments.

Yes, we have Asiana frequent flyer membership. Can this be done even flight was back in December?

Flight centre won't be able to retrospectively add FF numbers to flights already flown.

Have you retained your boarding passes? Just to confirm, the Asiana operated flights were sold with OZ flight numbers?

Assuming you had signed up to Asiana Club before you took the flights in December, you can lodge a missing points claim here: Asiana Airlines│ASIANA AIRLINES

OZ will probably not credit points until QF number is removed from the OZ flights, because from OZ's perspective you have chosen to credit to QF - they fact you didn't actually get any QF points isn't relevant to them. If you had gotten QF points then could ask QFF to reverse the transactions, but this may not be possible given no points were credited - there is nothing to reverse. Once reversed from QF then try missing mileage credit with OZ. Yes the process is difficult and no guarantees of success.

In future with such a situation select OZ for mileage earning departing at ICN, then at SIN ask QF to change to your QF number, and similarly for the way back select QF for points earning at MEL and when at NRT ask OZ to change to your OZ number.

Another option - if there are no immediate status benefits from attaching FF numbers (seat selection, extra luggage, etc), opt to fly without any attached and then manually claim for each leg with the program you wish to credit to :)
