Got there…… ignored this to start with, but the constant email updates of achievements (without effort), sucked me in…….

Best win of the adventure was that switching my home and contents saved me some money and had a policy that really suited my situation.
One failure of the adventure was using a BP spend on master card promotion for 150 points, that credited to Qantas Shopping not Fuel….. so had to buy 2 packs of 270g twisties at a x10 promotion…… that did not suit my situation (high cholesterol) 😀

I hope this has been a nice revenue booster for Qantas and they make it (or something similar) permanent
I have mixed feelings on that. Whilst it would be nice to be able to retain/attain WP cheaper and make progress faster towards LTG, I’d also like the lounges to be less busy and standards to improve.

Only costs a few hundred dollars a year for a qantas pub membership... I'm only chasing gold for lifetime status and the oneworld access which I don't think would put much extra strain on the lounges.

I'm a bit similar - lifetime gold for the EK lounge access - especially the Cairo lounge for a shower after surviving Cairo T2 check-in and security checks.
